The new blog

I've taken a bit of a hiatus from actual blogging, but I'm pleased to announce that I have begun again!  Head over to my new blog for the deep thoughts of Daniel Comings.

Thought Provoking

I find political cartoons mostly amusing with good points often thrown into the humor.

This one is different.

Update on life

Ministry - Yesterday had probably the most amazing "counseling" (more listening than counseling) session.  It was amazing because throughout the meeting I got to see how God's grace, love and sovereignty had been working in a young persons life.  There are so many times that ministry can be discouraging, yesterday was NOT one of those days.

Spiderman - Went to see Spiderman 3 with a group from church.  Overall really good.  The rendering was great and the plots were good.  There was however (as Shanna has mentioned) a bit too much crying and the ending seemed to be drawn out. (Something similar to how LOTR Return of the King dragged on at the end)

Dallas Mavericks - Have finally lost and I officially despise Golden State.

Prayer request

My dad called me yesterday...as he did all of my brothers.  I shall let the post found on Andrews website share the details.

"I would count it a personal favor if you would lift up my Dad in prayer.  He has been diagnosed with a cancerous growth on his face--the technical term is "carcinoma".  At present it appears to be fairly localized, but he will be going to a specialist in the next couple of days to find out if it is anywhere else.

When I talked to Dad on the phone earlier, he asked for prayer that he would be able to use this circumstance in his life as a platform to proclaim the glory of God.  It's ok to pray that this not be serious or life-threatening--indeed, that is how I am praying--but God's glory is his main desire."

The Trip

Yesterday was a great day.  Aside from an extremely average round of golf (scored a 111), Adam and I had fun with my bro Dave and his eldist David Jr.  I put over 600 Miles on the car between Sunday night and last night, but it was well worth it to spend some time with family and share in som e good conversations with Adam.  Below is a pic of our "foursome" on the course. (Little David didn't play much...though he was a mean golf cart driver.)
